First batch of Haj pilgrims leaves for Saudi Arabia

Lucknow (PTI): The first batch of the Haj pilgrims on Sunday left for Saudi Arabia from Amausi airport here, officials said.

Cabinet Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui and several other ministers reached to see-off the pilgrims as a group of 270 Haj pilgrims left for Saudi Arabia this morning by a special Air India flight, they added.

All the pilgrims had arrived at the Haj house in the state capital on Saturday, officials said.

A control room has been set up here to provide necessary information about the flights to the pilgrims.
