    Harbhajan's gesture to young fan

Meerut (PTI): Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh paid a visit to an eight-year-old fan of his, who lost his limbs due to electrocution, and offered a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to help him in his treatment.

Aniket lost both his arms and a leg after an 11000 volt power cable fell on him while playing at home in Jabalpur recently.

The minor's arms and one leg had to be amputated due to gangrene infection at a hospital in Meerut after his parents failed to admit him in a New Delhi hospital.

"Such an incident can happen with anyone and we must be perpared to extend help to a needy patient like him", Harbhajan said after meeting the boy at the Narayana Hospital here on Friday.

Getting emotional at the sight of a minor, he said the country's polulation is 100 crore and if each one of us spares even Rs 10 for Aniket, then he can easily be treated.

Harbhajan's kind gesture follows a drive launched by a TV channel to generate funds for the treatment of the boy, who also wanted to meet his favourite cricketer in person.
