Thrissur (PTI): College students at an examination hall in Thrissur had a pleasant sight on Saturday when a bride of few minutes in full wedding attire was in their midst writing the paper.

Soon after exchanging vows, the bride rushed from the wedding pandal to the exam hall to write a subject in the final year BSc examination which was postponed to on Saturday due to the BJP-sponsored hartal on Friday.

Bejewelled Neethu turned up for the examination in her bridal finery with bridegroom Sreejith in tow as she did not get time to change. Also, she did want to miss her examination conducted by Calicut university. The newly wedded couple rushed from the Koorkanchery temple to ST Mary's college, about five km away, as there was hardly any time left between the 'muhurtham' of the marriage and the exam.

"This should have been a relaxed day in her life. But she had been tense since Friday as the wedding and exam coincided," Neethu's relative said.

Sreejith waited patiently outside the hall till the exam was over.
