Congress seems satisfied with Arjun Singh's statement

New Delhi (PTI): The Congress on Sunday appeared to be satisfied with Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh's statement on the recent controversies surrounding him, saying the senior leader has done "introspection."

"It is for a senior person like Arjun Singh to introspect and he has done so," AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi told PTI.

Asked to comment on Singh saying in the statement that there are needless and irrelevant controversies, he said, "these started controversy, we have to close none. Asked if the party welcomes the statement issued by Singh, Singhvi said, "We have nothing further to add."

Singh's remarks at the book release function that the 'evaluation of loyalty in the party was now being done in a very narrow context' was seen as a potshot at the Congress leadership.

His statement in an interview in the book "Mohin Kahan Vishram" that the decision making process in the party has "fallen in a bit of a disarray" also attracted widespread criticism.
