CAT rejects AIIMS official's plea against transfer

New Delhi (PTI): The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Friday dismissed a petition seeking revocation of a Health Ministry's order to remove Rashmi Jain as senior financial adviser of AIIMS.

Jain, an Indian Audit and Accounts Service official, was removed from the post and repatriated to her parent cadre on March 4, 2007, a year before the end of her deputation.

A CAT Bench comprising Shankar Raju and Veena Chhotray dismissed Jain's petition, holding that an officer on deputation cannot claim continuation in the post as a matter of right.

She had challenged the government's decision in the CAT.

The officer has also approached the Delhi High Court against the order, where the matter is pending.
