    Prohibitory orders imposed in Baramullah

Srinagar (PTI): In the wake of protests over the Amarnath land revocation row, authorities in Baramulla district have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 IPC with immediate effect.

The order, under which not more than five people can assemble, will remain in force for 60 days, District Magistrate Baramulla Baseer Khan, said.

However, the restriction will not apply to funeral, marriage and religious gatherings, he said, adding no person shall use loud speaker or any other device for making speech or announcement except with the prior permission from District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate.

Civilians are also barred from carrying fire arms.
