Govt. lacks political will to fight terrorism, says Naidu

Hyderabad (PTI): Strongly condemning the blast at Mehrouli in Delhi on Saturday, BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu accused the UPA government of lacking political will to fight terrorism in the country.

Voicing concern over the growing incidents of terror strikes, Naidu demanded a POTA like act to deal with scourge of terrorism.

"I know it is not possible to deploy force in every place or in every corner of the country, but the government should have a political will and commitment to deal firmly with such activities," he told reporters here.

Naidu said the UPA government should wake up from deep slumber and enact a POTA like act to deal with growing terrorist activities.

He asked Congress to stop resorting to vote bank politics while dealing with terrorist menace.

Taking a dig at Congress' apprehension that POTA would be misused, he said that the anti-terror act was meant to deal with lawbreaker.
