Explosives recovered from militant hideout in J&K
Srinagar (PTI): In a major haul, security forces recovered a cache of explosives including 10 kg RDX from a militant hideout in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
A joint team of police and 52 Rashtriya Rifles recovered the explosives from a militant hideout in Kandi Budan forest area near village Heewan-Sheeri in North Kashmir on Saturday evening.
Besides 10 kg RDX, the search party also recovered 165 rounds of AK ammunition, a pistol magazine, a wireless set, five IED, three kg Nitro glycerin, a pencil bomb, a detonator, three IED switches, an IED circuit, three UBGL grenades and five hand grenades, the spokesman said.
The explosives were destroyed on the spot, the spokesman said, adding the militant hideout was also destroyed by the team.
However, no one was arrested during the operation, the spokesman added.
