Cold conditions in Uttarakhand may intensify

Dehra Dun (PTI): Cold conditions in Uttarakhand may intensify with Met department here expecting a considerable fall in mercury in the coming days.

"We are expecting a clear sky as the atmospheric conditions responsible for rains and snow is turning weak. We would see more fall in mercury in the coming days," Director of Met department Anand Sharma said.

However, he said, higher reaches of Himalayas might receive light rains or snowfall.

The minimum temperature of Dehra Dun was on Monday recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius, one degree less than on Sunday's minimum. Pantnagar recorded a minimum temperature of 4.3 degrees Celsius, New Tehri at 5.4, Pithoragarh at 6.4 and Mukteshwar at 0.3 degree Celsius.
