One injured in north Bengal bomb blast
Jalpaiguri (WB)(PTI): One woman was injured when suspected militants on Thursday detonated a powerful bomb near a river bridge at Bukria village in Jalpaiguri district.
"The explosion took place at about 11.50 am," IG north Bengal K L Tamta said before leaving for the spot in Kumargram block.
47-year-old Namita Das was seriously injured after the blast hurled large stones on her when she was bathing in the Gholani river, SDPO of Alipurduar, Pradip Das said.
Police took Ms. Das to a local hospital from where she was referred to Alipurduar Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The type of the explosive materials used in the bomb is still unknown, he said.
