Three killed in ammunition depot explosion in Vietnam
Hanoi, Sept. 21 (AP): A huge explosion at a military ammunition depot in northern Vietnam killed three soldiers and injured four others, an official said on Friday.
The explosion, which occurred Thursday morning in Minh Son village in Thanh Hoa province, also damaged a dozen homes, said village chief Le Phu Thanh.
Thanh said some unexploded artillery shells landed in some villagers' gardens and military personnel are collecting them.
Military officials at the depot were not available for comment Friday.
The area was sealed off by the military, he said, adding that the cause of the incident was under investigation by the military.
Several ammunition depot explosions have been reported in Vietnam in recent years.
