Putin gets tiger cub as birthday present
Moscow (PTI): Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin received an Amur tiger cub as birthday present this year, a media report said here.
Putin, who summoned journalists of his press pool late last night, displayed the royal present which he received on his 56th birthday last Wednesday, according to NTV.
The Prime Minister, however, did not disclose who had given him tiger cub.
"Doesn't matter, who gave," he said.
On his 50th birthday, Putin was presented a black Labrador puppy by the Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu, which grew into Russia's most famous she dog Koni and witnessed her master's high profile interactions with the world leaders.
Putin said he is yet to decide the name of his new pet, "May be Mashenka or Milashka," Putin said.
Patting the tiger cub Putin said that he will give her into 'good hands' to grow into a tigress.
A grown up Amur tiger, mostly found in Russia's far eastern regions close to China, weighs about 200-250 kg and Putin would have to give away his birthday present in two three months.
