Fears of violence as protesters reinforce Bangkok siege

Bangkok (PTI): Triggering fears of confrontation with the police, hundreds of anti-government protesters in Thailand on Monday reinforced the siege of Bangkok's two airports, which have struggled to cope with more than 300,000 stranded travelers, including Indians.

Hundreds of anti-government protesters abandoned their sit-in at the Prime Minister's office to reinforce the siege of Bangkok's Suwaranabhumi international airport and the Don Muang domestic airport.

People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leader Chamlong Srimuang called on protesters, who have laid siege to the prime minister's compound since August 26 to "move to the airports to support our people there."
