    Landlord buried with pet car

Chennai, April. 4 (PTI): A landlord in Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district was buried with his 'pet car', fulfilling his last wish.

Narayanaswami alias Kannaiyan(64), was the headman of Sivapuram village in Thanjavur. He had expressed his wish to be buried along with the Morris Minor car which he had bought in 1958 when he was 15 years old, family sources said.

When he died on April 1, his wife, three sons and three daughters decided to place his body in the car and bury him along with it. A huge grave was dug and the burial took place the next day in the presence of a huge gathering.

People from neighbouring areas also had gathered in large numbers to witness the burial, sources said.

The car was more than a child for him and he used to take personal care in the maintenance of the vehicle.

Kannaiyan believed that the car, which stayed with him for about five decades, brought him good luck.
