    French body builds houses for tsunami victims

    Porayar, June 2 (PTI): French voluntary organisation 'Ordre de Malte', has constructed and handed over 63 permanent houses for the tsunami survivors of Chinoorpet village near here.

    At a function here Friday, Director of Ordre de Malte, Count Yann Baggio handed over the keys of the houses to Kandaswamy, Special Deputy Collector (Tsunami Rehabilitation), who in turn handed over them to the survivors of the disaster.

    The organisation has also provided a fish processing centre and a community hall in Tarangambadi village.
