ICAR entrance exam on April 19
Coimbatore, (PTI): The 13th All India entrance exam for admissions to Under Graduate programmes in agriculture and allied science subjects, other than veterinary science, for filling 15 per cent of the total number of seats in State Agricultural Universities and Central Agricultural University being conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Reserch (ICAR) would be held on April 19.
The degree of four-year duration has been in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fishery, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Marketing, Banking and Cooperation, Biotechnology and Commercial Agriculture and Business Management.
Candidates seeking admission in other State Agricultural Universities and Central Agricultural University can take up the exam and, who pass through this would be given a National Talent Scholarship of Rs 10,000 a year, a release from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, said Wednesday.
The aspirants must have passed plus two or equivalent securing not less than 50 per cent of total marks for general, OBC and UPS categories, and 40 per cent for SC/ST categories in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Maths/Agriculture/Home Science, can take up the exam, it said.
Last date of receipt of application forms in ICAR is March 10, from remote areas by March 17 and the result would be tentatively declared on May 10, the release said.
