Thiruvananthapuram (PTI): The dawn-to-dusk hartal called by the Congress-led opposition UDF in Kerala to protest the LDF Government's "failure" to arrest price rise affected normal life in the state on Tuesday.

Early reports said private buses kept off roads and shops remained closed in most places. Classes were not held in educational institutions and universities postponed examinations scheduled for the day.

The state-run Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, however, was operating its services from major towns. No untoward incident has been reported, police sources said.
