    JDS leader quits party and joins BJP

    Bangalore (PTI): Former legislator and senior JDS leader A R Krishnamurthy on Tuesday joined the BJP along with his supporters.

    Krishnamurthy unsuccessfully contested the assembly elections held in May from Kollegal reserved constituency.

    He is the son of former Kerala governor late B Rachaiah.

    JDS has already lost two of its MLAs-- Balachandra Jarakhiholi and Shivanagouda Naik, who resigned their assembly membership and joined the BJP two weeks ago.

    Both of them have already joined the BJP ministry-led by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
