    Rain lashes Goa

Panaji (PTI): The rains which began last week, following a long dry spell, has given a relief to farmers in Goa.

"The farmers were desperately waiting for rains and since it's raining now they can go ahead with their farming," state agriculture director S S P Tendulkar told PTI.

However, the agriculture expert feel that the monsoons should continue at least for next two months for better production.

"Two days of rains will not make any impact on paddy fields. The rains should continue for more days," the director said. The state has recorded 1051 mm rains.
