Shimla (PTI): The Manali-Sarchu road will be closed for all vehicular traffic from November 1 due to closure of Rohtang and Baralachala passes owing to onset of snowfall, official sources said on Monday.

The weather condition and snowfall in these passes does not permit any movement of vehicles during winter months. The Manali-Sarchu road connects Lahual and Spiti and strategically important Leh.

After October 31 in case of any accident or physical casualty, Border Road Organisation (BRO) will not be in a position to carry out snow clearance operation for evacuation, a release said.
