    BJP manifesto promises terror free Chhattisgarh

    Raipur (PTI): Chhattisgarh BJP in its election manifesto has promised to provide rice at Rs 1 per kg, interest free farm loans and terror free state.

    The manifesto, released on Monday by state election in-charge Ravishankar Prasad, promises rice at Rs 1 per kg to all "Antyodaya" ration card holders, Rs 2 a kg rice to all poor families and interest free farm loans.

    The party has also promised to provide free power upto five HP to farmers and separate power line to provide 24 hour uninterrupted power supply to farmers.

    Releasing its manifesto four days ahead of the first phase of voting, BJP has pledged to give free salt to 32 lakh poor families, bonus of Rs 270 on every quintal of paddy procured by the government, to make legal provisions to protect farm lands, health insurance scheme for all BPL families and a 'terror free' Chhattisgarh.

    The first phase of voting for 39 assembly seats will be held on November 14.

    The BJP poll promise for year 2008 also pledges to ensure work to all and water to every farmland, uplift of SC,ST & OBC and expansion of the sphere of rights for under privileged sections on water, forest and land.

    The manifesto offers accident insurance scheme for women, subsidy of Rs 100 on LPG connections, Rs 10 higher minimum wage for women in both skilled and unskilled sector and an one hour cut in official working hours for married women if the party comes to power.

    The party has also promised to constitute district re-organization commission to ensure appointments on all vacant seats, to make provisions for completion of government schemes in time, timely increment and promotion and cycle to all Anganwadi workers.

    Talking about urban development, the BJP manifesto promises to start metro train between Raipur-Durg-Rajnandgan and Raipur-Bilaspur.

    It may be noted that Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, which released the party manifesto on Friday, had also made same promises.

    It has promised rice at Rs two a kg to all IT payers, free power to farmers, Rs 250 bonus on every quintal of paddy, a cap on acquisition of farm land for industrial purpose without farmers' consent, cap on sale of farm land to people from other states and metro rail between Raipur-Durg.
