Kanpur (PTI): Marking 'Children's Day', a scheme to install water purifiers for providing filtered drinking water to government school children here was launched.

In the first phase of the scheme, schools from those area will be selected where clean water is not available or children are suffering from diseases like diarrhea, said DC Anil Kumar.

The first purifier was installed in Pratapur village primary school today and later they will be installed in 20 other primary schools in the first phase, he said.

All schools from the rural area will be later included in the scheme, he added.
