Goa Chief Secretary favours speedy disposal of files
Panaji (PTI): Goa Chief Secretary Hauzel Haukhum has asked his sub-ordinates not to keep government files pending for more than seven days.
The Chief Secretary said a system of disposing of the files in speedy manner has to be properly laid and executed.
Haukhum, chairing a meeting of secretaries yesterday, went through the file management system developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The system has to be developed with an objective to provide the user with a simple solution to manage their documents and files in efficient manner, Haukhum, who will be relieved from his Goa assignment on July 21, told the meeting.
He said the file management system has been initially implemented in select offices besides the secretariat.
Haukhum opined that the file movement index should be introduced by all government departments. This will exhibit movement of files from one officer to other so that delays, if any, would be visible from index at a glance, he added.
