    BharatMatrimony to hike ad-spend budget

Mumbai, May 27 (PTI): India's leading internet group BharatMatrimony said it will focus on marketing of its portals in the current fiscal year and will increase its marketing budget to the tune of Rs 57 crore.

"The infrastructure is already in place. We need to focus on the marketing of our portals, thus the major expenses are going to flow into that direction," BharatMatrimony Founder and Chief Executive Officer Murugavel Janakiraman said.

BharatMatrimony has a number of portals under its flagship, the major ones being BharatMatrimony.com, ClickJobs.com, IndiaProperty.com and IndiaAutomobile.com.

The group has set Rs 25 crore as ad-spent budget on ClickJobs.com, Rs 20 crore on BharatMatrimony.com, Rs 10 crore on IndiaProperty.com and about Rs 2 crore on IndiaAutomobile.com.

The company spent a comparatively meagre Rs 10 crore on marketing of the entire group in the last fiscal.

BharatMatrimony would come up with a total of 300 centres by March 2008 across the country.

BharatMatrimony.com recently tied up with Airtel on revenue sharing basis to provide voice profiles and messages.

"The Airtel users can listen to recorded profiles and messages of the prospective matches," he said.

In next 2-3 months, the portal would tie-up with other telecommunication service providers, including Hutch, BSNL, MTNL and Reliance for enabling voice profiles, he said.
