Jaipur, July 20 (PTI): World's largest chipmaker Intel Corp has entered into an MoU with Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS) to establish 1,00,000 common service centres (CSCs) to make computers accessible to over 6,50,000 villages around the country.

The CSCs, to be set up over the next 12 months, are part of Intel's 'World Ahead' programme, aimed at taking computing to the next one billion population of the world, Intel South Asia Marketing Director John McClure told reporters here today.

"The CSCs are already being deployed. While IL&FS will provide the framework for setting up these centres, Intel will offer the technology ecosystem enabling and capacity building support," he said.
