GlobalLogic to acquire firms in India

New Delhi, Oct. 7 (PTI): US-based software product development company GlobalLogic plans to acquire small and mid-sized firms as well as captive units in India to expand operations and has earmarked USD 50 million for the purpose.

"We are in discussions with about 12 companies in India and we will announce two deals in this fiscal. The company has lined up 50 million dollar for acquisitions in the near future," GlobalLogic CEO Peter Harrison, who is on a visit to India, said.

Besides, the company plans to scale up its manpower almost five times worldwide and India will play a key role.

"We will take our total head count to 10,000 in the next three years and India would still contribute 60-70 per cent of the total workforce," he said.
