    Samsung to enter into tie-ups with retail giants

    Chennai (PTI): To capture the growing comsumer electronics market in India, Samsung India will tap new large format retail opportunities by entering into tie-ups with retail gaints.

    The CTV industry is expected to grow to 15.3 million in 2009 compared to 11.5 million in 2007 and tier-II and tier-III were expected to fuel the growth compared to metroes, Samsung India Deputy Managing Director D R Zutshi told newspersons after launching the new 2008 series of Flat Panel Televisions (FPTV) here on Thursday.

    He said in India, the FPTV market was set to grow to nine lakh units in 2008 from four lakh in 2007.

    With the launch of new series of FPTVs, we expect the Full HD Flat Panel Television range to constitute over 20 per cent of flat panel TV volumes in the year, he said.
