Automobile sales hits record high in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO (Xinhua): Automobile sales hit a record high of 248,945 units in April in Brazil, the National Motor Vehicle Distribution Federation said on Friday.
The federation also said 866,463 vehicles were sold in the January-April period, up 35.6 percent from the same period in 2007.
"The result shows that the consumers continue to trust the country's economy, committing to the financing of vehicles," stressed the president of the federation, Sergio Rezende.
The sales are robust concerning all types of vehicles, which, as a whole, rose by 29.9 percent in April on the same period last year.
