Mumbai (PTI): State Bank of India on Friday filed for liquidation of its housing finance arm SBI Home Finance Ltd in Kolkata High Court.

SBI Home Finance Ltd was defunct, trading in its shares had been suspended since October 2005, SBI informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

SBI's exposure to the the housing finance company has already been fully provided for or written off, it said.

SBI shares closed lower by 1.34 per cent at Rs 1,481 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
