Melbourne, Oct 9 (PTI) Now Indians can also savour premium quality Australian beer as Cooper's Brewery is ready to hit the country's market soon.

The Adelaide-based Coopers Brewery has struck an export deal with Bangalore-based import company, DC Johar & Sons, to ship beer to India, an AAP report said.

The first shipment of 400 cases of Coopers Pale Ale, Coopers Sparkling Ale and Coopers Stout would reach India this week, the report said.

"This contract arose from discussions with the export manager of DC Johar & Sons," Coopers Brewery Chairman and Marketing Director Glenn Cooper said.

"They were after a premium quality beer to be stocked at numerous five star hotels across India and thought Coopers would be a perfect match", Cooper said.

Though the company had previously shipped malt extract and home brew kits to India, this would be its first beer shipment to the country on a trial basis.

"Although this is a trial shipment, we hope to cement a good relationship with the distributor and continue to expand the Coopers brand across India" he said.
