Archer Xing breaks national record at Chinese City Games

WUHAN (Xinhua): Xing Yu from Beijing Shunyi scored a total of 343 points out of 36 arrows to improve the national record by five points at the Chinese City Games here on Tuesday.

Xing shot 114 points in men's individual final to lift the title, downing Liu Jia from Qingdao, who hit 112 points.

Xing collected 114 points in quarterfinal and then kept up his momentum to take in 115 points in semifinal.

The 343 points out of the last three round in final is only three points adrift of the world record by South Korean archer Park Song Min in 2001.
