Decision on Gul by the weekend

New Delhi (PTI): A decision on whether to send back injured Pakistani paceman Umar Gul will be taken in the next few days after a assessment of his medical report by their Cricket Board's medical commission.

The MRI report of Gul's injury has been sent to the Pakistan Cricket Board medical commission in Lahore and it would send its opinion to the team management in next couple of days, a source in the Pakistan cricket team.

"We have sent the reports to Pakistan and after consulting the orthopedics and other medical experts a decision will be taken on whether to retain him or send him back. We will know the status in next couple of days," the source said.

Gul was ruled out of the first Test on the match eve due to back sprain, forcing the Pakistanis to give a Test cap to Sohail Tanvir.
