Kolkata (PTI): In two separate incidents, two persons were injured during the Indian Premier League match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers here at Eden Gardens on Sunday, police said.

Bablu Kamat, 32, suffered injury in the upper portion of his left eye when a ball from the bat of Andrew Symonds of Deccan Charges hit him at the stands.

"The injury of the person was serious and he has been rushed to the hospital. He is being treated there," Additional Commissioner of Police (I), Subrata Narayan Sarkar said.

In another accident, a person fell from the stands when he was trying to lean and see Bollywood star and the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan.

"At around 4.15 pm in the evening, Md Selim, 38, a resident of Topsia in North Kolkata injured his legs when he fell from the stands. He has been immediately rushed to Calcutta National Medical College," Sarkar said.

However, police said Selim had no fracture and he was discharged after treatment.
