    Shooter Noria wins gold in junior international event

    New Delhi (PTI): Young marksman Asher Noria won a gold medal in double trap event at International Junior Competition at Suhl in Germany.

    Noria shot 145 (48+47+50) out of a possible 150 in the qualification round and missed the world record of 146/150 by a whisker. In the final round, he shot 45/50.

    Another Indian in the fray, Sangram Dahiya finished fifth with a total score of 181/200 (145+39).

    Both Noria and Dahiya's qualification round efforts established a new junior national record bettering 138/150 by Ajay Mittal last year.

    Meanwhile, the Indian team of Noria (145), Dahiya (142) and Chetan Sansanwal (127) won silver in double trap event with aggregate of 414/450, just a whisker away from world record of 415/450.
