    Obama a Maria Carey fan

    London (PTI): Pop diva Maria Carey has a fan in US President-elect Barack Obama, whose wife played a 1993 hit of the singer to him before the poll results were announced.

    The 38-year-old curvy singer was "blown away" when she heard it, a friend of Carey was quoted as saying by the 'Mirror'.

    Obama's wife Michelle played Carey's 1993 hit 'Hero' to him before the Presidential election results were announced on Tuesday night.

    Carey "is so honoured to have played her part in such an occasion," her friend was quoted as saying.

    The American diva is here to promote an album.
