Cruise: I like doing romantic things

London (PTI): Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise is one 'lucky' man or at least the actor feels so. Cruise admits that he is loving his marriage to actress Katie Holmes.

Crusie married Holmes in Bracciano, Italy in November 2006 following a whirlwind romance, and have a 2-year-old daughter, Suri. The 46-year-old actor reveals that he feels "lucky" to have the actress as his wife and he is happier than ever with the 'Batman Begins' star as she brings out his romantic side.

"Married life is very good, very lovely. I feel lucky to have Kate as my wife. She's an extraordinary woman. She is funny and smart and she likes the same things that I do. She's a very strong, gracious woman, and a great comedian. I like doing romantic things, such as bringing flowers and surprising her with things. I love candlelit evenings with nice music, " Cruise told Sun.

The 'Jerry Maguire' star is also determined to be a great dad to make up for the difficult relationship he had with his own father. Cruise also has two adopted children 16-year-old Isabella and 13-year-old Connor from his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.

The superstar says that after being brought up without a father figure from the age of 12, when his dad Thomas Cruise Mapother III split from his mother Mary, he himself wants to be a great parent.

"I'm a great parent. I want to be with my kids, and they get to do all the stuff that I wanted to do when I was growing up. My own father wasn't there much for me and I want to be a different dad to my kids. My family is the most important thing in my life," he said.

Cruise also reveals he was determined not to let his divorce from Kidman affect his relationship with their adopted children. "Nic and I are very committed and successful in sharing the parenting," he adds.
