London (PTI): Socialite Paris Hilton, known for her wild ways and excessive partying, surprised onlookers by deciding to abstain from alcohol at a party she hosted in Sydney on New Year's Eve.

Hilton partied her way into the New Year at the Bongo Virus party but was not seen with a drink from the time she arrived at 11pm, reported The Sun.

But that does not mean that the hotel heiress was not having enough fun. Paris accompanied by sister Nicky Hilton took to the dance floor in her vintage Versace dress and was clearly the centre of attention in the crowd full of Sydney's own celebrities.

Hundreds of Hilton's fans waited in adjacent club Trademark craving to see the social princess, though she only made a brief appearance outside. Although being the star attraction, Hilton's handlers kept everyone at arm's length. The Hilton sisters were reportedly paid USD 600,000 for their two hour stint at the party.
