Actor Priyanka says no to skin show

Thiruvananthapuram (IANS): Malayalam actress Priyanka, who won the state film award for the best actress for director T.V. Chandran's "Vilaapangalkappuram", says she is not interested in exposing on screen.

"I study my character, visualize it from audience's point of view and then I decide how I should portray it. I will never do vulgar scenes," Priyanka told reporters here.

"After the awards were announced, the response from the industry was good and I am being noticed. I also got few offers," she added said.

She has acted in three Malayalam films and two of them were directed by Chandran whose "Vilaapangalkappuram", about a girl's sufferings at the hands of religious extremistsm, was adjudged the second best movie while Adoor Gopalakrishan's "Oru Pennun Randu Annum" won the best film award.

But Chandran Friday said the awards were given to a "TV serial and not a movie".

When asked about Chandran's comments, she said: "Anyone would be sad if they miss an award. I am only a beginner and not qualified to comment on the incidents that broke out after the awards were announced."

Priyanka started her career with Malayalam TV serials and made her debut in tinsel town with a Tamil film.

"So far I have done nine films in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. My journey has just begun in the industry and I wish to stay here for a long time," said Priyanka.
