Rice rises on exporters buying, wheat steady
New Delhi, April 10 (PTI): Rice strengthened in the wholesale grains market today on the back of pick up in demand from exporters and ended a shade higher.
On the other side, wheat and other commodities traded in a limited range on some enquiries from stockists and local parties and closed flat.
Marketmen said the rise in rice prices was mostly due to exporters demand.
In the rice section, rice basmati common quoted Rs 30 higher at Rs 3780-3980 per quintal but rice basmati Lal Quila and Shri Lal Mahal were unchanged at Rs 5,000 and Rs 4,800 per quintal respectively.
Meanwhile, wheat dara (for mills) and wheat MP (desi) remained flat at Rs 940-960 and Rs 1200-1430 a quintal respectively in restricted activity.

Wheat MP (deshi) 1200-1430, wheat dara (for mills) 940-960, chakki atta (delivery) 995-1000, Chakki atta Rajdhani (10 kgs) 145, shakti bhog (10 kgs) 145, roller flour mill 1000-1010, maida 1110-1130 (90 kilos) and sooji 1215-1220 (90 kgs).
Rice basmati (lal quila) 5000, Shri Lal Mahal 4800, Basmati common 3780-3980, Permal raw new 1125-1150, old 870-900, permal wand 1260-1325, sela 1400-1450 and rice IR-8 1060-1080, Bajra 700-705, Jowar 735-760 (yellow), Maize 890-895 Barley (UP) 820-830 and Rajasthan 645-655.
