    Prices of select commodities drop

    Chennai, May 24 (PTI): Prices of select commodities like moong dal, gram dal and sooji dropped moderately, while others thoor dal, urad dal, wheat, sugar and maida remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

    Moong dal slipped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 3,500 from yesterday's level of Rs 3,700. Gram dal dipped by Rs 25 per quintal to Rs 2,625 against yesterday's Rs 2,650. Sooji (90 kg) also eased by Rs 30.

    Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

    Thoor dal Rs 3,800, urad dal Rs 3,800, moong dal Rs 3,500, gram dal Rs 2,625, sugar Rs 1,350, wheat Rs 1,250, maida (90 kg) Rs 1,250, sooji (90kg) Rs 1,350.
