AP should provide financial aid to tenant farmers: ABKS
Vijayawada (PTI): The Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha has demanded a sanction of Rs 5000 per acre as a financial aid to tenant farmers in the state from the Andhra Pradesh government.
These farmers hail from poor background and choose to take up cultivation for their livelihood, Kollinageswara Rao Vice President of ABKS said in press release today.
There are 30 lakh tenant farmers in the state and they do not have access to crop loans due to lack of land ownership, he said adding the state government should order payment of incentives to them, it said.
These farmers have no access to institutional finance like those in West Bengal and hence AP goverment should assist them, it added.
