    36.44 lakh tonne paddy arrive in Haryana

    Chandigarh (PTI): As many as 36.44 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the state during the current Kharif season so far.

    While stating this here on Tuesday, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, about 17.85 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 18.59 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 3.25 lakh tonnes leviable and 15.34 lakh tonnes non leviable Paddy.

    While enumerating the details of procurement of the paddy in the mandis, he said that Hafed had procured 7.55 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department had procured 5.31 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.82 lakh tonnes, HWC 67,592 tonnes, FCI 9,258 tonnes and Confed had purchased 2.38 lakh tonnes of paddy.

    He said that district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 7,09,465 tonnes , followed by Karnal 6,24,919 tonnes, Fatehabad 4,36,735 tonnes, Kaithal 4,07,707 tonnes, Ambala 3,22,088, Jind 2.44 lakh tonnes, Yamunanagar 2.39 lakh tonnes, Sirsa 1.86 lakh tonnes, Panipat 1.59 lakh tonnes, Faridabad 1.05 lakh tonnes, Sonipat 94,060 tonnes, Panchkula 44,610 tonnes, Hisar 42,823 tonnes, Rohtak 16,495 tonnes and Mewat 8,330 tonnes of Paddy.
