Record rainfall in Delhi brings back the chill
New Delhi, March. 12 (PTI): The capital received a record 17 mm rainfall in seven hours today that surpassed the average for the entire month of March and brought down the temperature by several notches, forcing Delhiites to take out their woollens again.
The average rainfall for the month of March in Delhi is 14.8 mm, while the city received 17 mm precipitation between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm today, the Met Department said.
The rains brought down the maximum temperature drastically, with the mercury plummeting to 21.3 degrees Celsius, that is nine degrees below normal.

The weatherman has forecast scattered showers with possibility of isolated hail and squall at some places in the capital and adjoining areas.
