New Delhi, April 30 (PTI): The Gujarat Government today told the Supreme Court that Kausar Bi, wife of fake encounter victim Sohrabuddin Sheikh, has been killed.

This comes as a confirmation to the state government's apprehension expressed to the Apex Court last week that she might have been killed.

The revelation about Kausar Bi's death was made by Gujarat Government counsel K T S Tulsi and Hemantika Wahi during the mentioning hours before a Bench headed by Justice Tarun Chatterjee.

The counsel submitted the action taken report on the investigation carried by the Gujarat Government in a sealed cover

The court said it will pass an appropriate order on the petition of habeas corpus tomorrow for the production of Kausar Bi.

Rubabbuddin Sheikh, brother of Sohrabuddin, had filed the petition seeking CBI inquiry into the fake encounter and had also sought direction for the Gujarat Government to produce Kausar Bi, who had gone missing after the incident.
