    Kalam launches Lead India 2020

    Sangareddy (AP), Aug. 16 (PTI): Former President A P J Abdul Kalam on Wednesday launched the 'Lead India 2020', the national movement for youth to lead the nation as world leader by 2020.

    Addressing a gathering of students from Medak district, Kalam said the gap between urban and rural should be reduced to achieve development.

    Kalam outlined a 10-point plan for India to became world leader which includes distribution of national and water resources, working together for growth of agriculture, industrial and services sectors, education with value system, health care for all, transparent and corruption-free governance, total eradication of illiteracy, poverty and sustainable growth.

    Kalam asked the youth to attain the goal with a united struggle.

    Stressing need for rural development, Kalam asked educational institutions to play vital role in this respect by designing road map for the same.

    Ministers P Laxmaiah, Md Fareeduddin and the District Collector were also present.
