I am doing a PG Diploma in Criminology and Criminal
Administration. What are the future prospects of this course?
Mohd Furqan Khan
Aligarh
Students majoring in criminology and criminal justice have
innumerable career options open to them upon graduation. Some
positions that you may qualify for include alcohol, tobacco and
firearms agents, arson specialist, bailiff, border, patrol agent,
commercial security specialist, controlled substance agent, court
administrator, and a court reporter. However, it is sometimes
necessary to have a graduate or a postgraduate degree and work
experience to further specialise in these career options.
I am a final year graduate student (Maths) and interested in
doing the actuarial course. Please list the institutions offering
the course, eligibility, and prospects of the course?
T. V. Raman

To specialise as an actuary, one needs to take an entrance exam
conducted by the Actuarial Society of India. Working for the
Postal Life Insurance, is only possible under the rules of the
entire postal department. Lastly, an insurance surveyor needs a
licence before he or she begins work. The University of Kalyani,
West Bengal offers a postgraduate course in actuarial science
(under the L.I.C.). The eligibility for the courses is either a
B.A. (Hons) in commerce, economics, statistics or graduation with
maths as a subject. The University of Bombay, MG Road, Fort,
Mumbai, offers B .A. in actuarial science. You can seek
employment as an officer at the administration level, in
development, accounting and investment areas or as an insurance
agent, insurance surveyor etc in an insurance company.
I am a 3rd year graduate student (PCM) and interested in MIT.
Kindly list the universities offering this course, details about
the entrance exam and eligibility criteria?

Dehradun
Manipal University, Karnataka and the Inverts Institute of
Management Studies, Bareilly (U.P.) offers MIT. You need to be a
graduate with maths as a subject) from a recognized University.

conducted by the Motilal Regional Engineering College, Allahabad
at different centres.
I have recently passed out of the 12th standard (Intermediate).
Which course should I take up for my graduation? Should I apply
for BE in computer science, or opt for an integrated MCA course?
Bhaskar
Bangalore
A BE in computer science will provide you with a balanced
exposure to hardware as well as software. However, an MCA is just
as good. Both the courses promise you equally good job prospects.
It is always preferable to arrive at a decision after having
weighted the pros and cons of both the courses.
I hold a postgraduate degree in Economics from the Delhi
University as well as a diploma in tourism management. I would
like to know the future prospects in the field of economics.
Reetu Rai
New Delhi
Opportunities for an economist exist in large organisations, NGOs
and other organisations such as CMIE, who carry out economic
studies, and the government through the Indian Economics Services
examination (state boards, planning commission, financial
organisations). Openings also exist in the RBI and in the
teaching sector.

the US. Kindly specify the procedure for taking the CGFNS exam?
