TWO books down the line but she says she is still learning. Anita Rau Badami, may have joined the select band of Indo-Canadian writers but still feels that she has a lot to achieve. And though Tamarind Mem and The Hero's Walk, which won the 2000 Commonwealth Prize for fiction are great debuts, Badami said that all the writing she had done so far was only a "preparation for what she wanted to do currently. The next novel she is working on is also set in two different diasporas.
