Candid shots
IS 15 long years enough to sustain a passion? Yes, feels Mireille Josephine Guezennec who describes herself as a photographer as well as a "pundit". For this lady who first came to India in 1978 and decided to study different Indian dance forms and then photograph classical dancers, it has been a long innings. Titled "Celebrating the divine in exalted bodies" her exhibition juxtaposes dancers in mudras in various stone sculptures in temples. She has photographed Sonal Mansingh, Shovana Narayan, Birju Maharaj, Melucharan Mahapatra and many others. Her work has taken her into many remote villages. Her next project? One that will take her down the Ganga is all that the lady is about to reveal.
