THE India International Centre, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature-India, hosts an evening of animated films on June 21. "Goldilocks and The Three Bears", an animated version of the classic folktale; "The Little Red Hen", an adaptation of the famous fable; "Katura and the Cat"; "The Crane's Magic Gift"; and finally "The Jungle Book" Rudyard Kipling's timeless story.

A FILM on the life and struggle of a crime reporter who faces sexual harassment at her workplace will be screened at Habitat World today (June15) at 7:00p.m. "Tapish" is a documentary film by Meenakshi Vinay Rai. The filmmaker will be present for a post-screening discussion.

THEATRE buffs can look forward to a rib tickling and hilarious play "Mario Brothers", at 7:00p.m at the Habitat World on June 21. This uproarious comedy is about three Brothers who are brought together by the will of their dying father. It has been written and directed by Gautam Mehra and Mehul Suri. Or there is the play "Dekh Main Phir Phir Aaoonga" based on Irwin Shaw's "Bury the dead" at 7:00p.m on June 21 at the Habitat World.

ON June 20, at 7:00 p.m., an award-winning documentary "Hunger in the Time of Plenty", directed by Sagari Chhabra will be screened at the Habitat World. The film deals with starvation deaths at the time of surplus food and the right for food and the right to work. The director will be present at the discussion after the film.

FILM buffs also have a couple of treats in store. There are two documentaries by PSBT Doordarshan on June 21 at the Habitat World. One is "Fiddlers on the Thatch" by Trisha Das, an inspirational story of the children of the Gandhi Ashram School, Kalimpong and how learning western classical music has acted as a catalyst of change. The other is "In Search of an Urban Ballad" by Joydeep Ghosh, a film on the development of urban music: concrete, metal, plastic, agony, and songs. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers moderated by musicologist Dr. Punita G. Singh.
