THE United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education ends in 2005 and recognising the importance of human rights education, the International Human Rights Education Consortium (IHREC) along with the Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC) (Justice and Peace Commission) is conducting a five-day residential "National Human Rights Education Workshop" in Mumbai from October 10-14.

"I Am Impressed: On Cleaning Bookshelves And The Wavering Yolk Of Faith" is the title of Anand Thakore's show on July 8, 5-8 p.m.
A Loquations presentation in the NCPA's Sunken Garden Thakore will read the poems of Mumbai-based, Chennai-born poet Arundhathi Subramaniam, who is currently pursuing a writer's residency at Stirling, Scotland.
Thakore is a Hindustani classical singer, a student of Pandit Satyasheel Pande to whom his first self-published collection of poems Waking in December is dedicated. E-mail: loquations123@yahoo.co.uk

BHARATI JHAVER, a student of Communications from Chennai is holding an exhibition of her paintings at the Nehru Centre, Worli till July 7. The eminent painter Jaideep Mehrotra inaugurated the exhibition. Entitled "Mirage II", this is Jhaver's first exhibition in Mumbai. She has exhibited earlier in Chennai and Visakhapatnam where she won an award in the 32nd all-India exhibition organised by the Lalit Kala Parishad.
